Protect Your Frame
A while back I saw a really sweet Frame Bag designed with the Colorado Flag – and two thoughts came to mind. a) Would that fit on my bike (I ride a small frame)? b) What’s all that Velcro going to do to the finish of my carbon frame? After some digging I was able to find a smaller version of the frame bag called a 1/2 bag, but the whole idea of sand and crushed granite (Colorado’s dirt) didn’t sit well with me.
Body Weight
Mountain biking is a game of numbers; how far, how fast, how light, etc. In this world of numbers, few remember the most important – your body weight.
Adobe Lightroom Basics
I will cover, Importing, Keyword Tagging, Titles/Descriptions, Sorting, Filtering, Selecting, Editing and Exporting. This is great for any skill level for anyone shooting digital photos of any kind.
Alderman’s Ford Park Ride
There are not many places that you can get out and ride and not have to deal with too much traffic, but this little route is one of the better places on the East Side of Tampa Bay.
Planing the Route
You have a starting point and a destination, but what about the route in between? When exploring the backcountry on a bike expedition, a plan should be in place as to the specific route.
Inspiration to Ride
I have a restless soul, and the prescribed treatment is “Get Outdoors”! It’s always been that way, since the time I was a kid playing and “camping” in a fort I built in the backwoods of Texas by flowing creek, to surfing the beaches of Southern California to packing horses on the backcountry of the Colorado mountains.
Not cool!
As we deal with all the rain and the upcoming winter the trials tend to become muddy. I am seeing an alarming amount of fat bike photos tearing up the trails all over the Internet!
Zwift – a new way of indoor cycle training.
Winter is here and while here in Colorado we have been experiencing some great weather days, sometimes it’s still difficult to get out and ride.
To Strava or not to Strava?
With all the negative connotations that Strava can bring, some folks have been looking at other solutions. In the Strava threads, cyclists state that they would entertain a different solution.
Protecting Our Right to Bike
We all know that I am an advocate for protecting our right to bike in Colorado Springs for both on road and off. With a deep appreciation and passion, can be fairly outspoken at times.
Video: Homeless Camps
After watching the KRDO13 clip, I was curious to know why the city’s hands were tied – it didn’t make sense to me. I contacted Aimee Cox (Community Development Manager for Colorado Springs) and spent an hour on the phone with her.
Training Partner
Knowing that in 6 weeks I will be pulling a loaded trailer up in the Colorado Mountains for my overnight trip, I thought that it would probably be a good time to start getting used to having a trailer io the back of my bike.
