Going Off-Grid Starts with Land
Welcome to The Creek, 40-acres in the Ozarks
Here is a video tour of the new 40-acre property in the Ozark mountains. All the videos were shot a week ago, my first weekend there. This is short but packed with drone and fat bike footage, deer, and wild turkeys.
The IBEX and the 200Ah lithium performed well, but recharging was challenging due to clouds. I have 600W on top, and this weekend, I prepared another 600W for a ground array with its own charge controller.
The drone footage is all line of sight, as DJI and the iPad mini were having fits. It’s now fixed, so future footage should be much better next time.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I had fun making it!
Wildlife Out At The Creek
Arkansas White-tailed Deer
I’ll show you how to elevate pre-prepped meals, and bring/store fresh meats and veggies. Some people choose to take a portable BBQ with them and BBQ all their meals, but sometimes that’s just not possible.

Great post! Can you share more about how you manage power storage when the weather isn’t cooperating? Also, do you recommend any specific gear for starting out off-grid on a budget?
